    There are certain corporate groups who run hospitals and
    educational institutions, will this be considered as CSR?

    • Activities which may be included by companies in their Corporate Social Responsibility Policies are defined under Schedule VII of Companies Act, 2013.

      In the present case, the above services provided by a Corporate Group will not be covered/eligible under CSR Expenditure if it is being run/provided because of any other reason (Except that if it is being run/provided wholly and exclusively for the purpose of compliance with Section 135 or Voluntary Service for the Benefit of the Society at Free of Cost then it may be allowed as Expenditure made for Compliance with Section 135).
